The Cause Info

We are proud to announce Our Cause for 2012 will be The Bedford-Stuyvesant Ambulance Corps (BSVAC).
They are the nation's first minority-run volunteer ambulance corps and a non-profit organization. Founded by EMS workers, Captain James "Rocky" Robinson and Specialist Joe Perez in 1988, the BSVAC has been around for more than two decades.
Answering over 100 calls per month, the BSVAC is the busiest volunteer ambulance service, for it's size, in the nation. Their extraordinary service saves many lives within their community, particularly those who are without health insurance and unable to afford the high costs of a ride to the hospital in a city ambulance.
Along with providing such a wonderful and much needed service within their community, the BSVAC has worked with many other minority communities all over the nation. They provide these communities emergency medical training and assist them in setting up such programs. BSVAC also responded to both emergencies at both World Trade Center attacks in 1993 and 2001, in which volunteers saved a firefighter's life.

They provide services such as Blood Pressure Readings, a Neighborhood First-Aid Station, Medical Station/Ambulance stand-by for Events, Trauma Cars, Ambulance Service, CPR Training, EMT Courses/EMT Re-certification/Refresher Courses and so much more.
Because of everything they have done and still do for their community it is an honor for Stella's Secret Closet to share with you all such a beautiful organization. We hope that you will join in and help this organization flourish and accomplish so much more this year. Every time you make a purchase at StellasSecretCloset.com, a portion of the profit will go to BSVAC at the end of the year. Help us help them and get some beautiful accessories for yourself and loved ones at the same time!
